Mrs. Janice Lee Williams

Mrs. Janice Lee Williams, loving mother and grandmother went home to our Lord and Savior on Monday, June 17, 2019, age 69 years. She was born the daughter of Johnnie and Lonnie Mae (Moore) Allen October 15, 1949 in Harlem, New York. Janice graduated from George Washington High School after which she worked for a bank as a bookkeeper. She married Benjamin Williams, Sr. August 10, 1971 before moving to Saginaw, MI in 1972 where she began working for Michigan Bell Telephone Company retiring after 25 years of service. To know Janice was to love her; she had such an infectious laugh and personality and she made friends everywhere she went. She will truly be missed. Mrs. Janice Lee Williams leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Benjamin Williams Jr.; a daughter, Latoya Williams, both of Saginaw, MI; two grandchildren, Devontae D. Long and Montra’ J. Morgan II, both of Saginaw, MI; one goddaughter, Felicia Pipkins; two sisters-in-law, Annie Glass of N. Carolina and Shirlene Williams of New York; a brother-in-law, Robert (Stephanie) Williams of Texas; two god-sisters, Sylvia(Al) James of New York City and Anita (Kent) Owens of Pennsylvania; two cousins, Elenore Moore of Jacksonville, Florida and James (Veronica) Davis of N. Carolina; two special cousins, Denise Haley and Patrick (Delois) Haley both of Saginaw, MI; a special friend, Tyrone Johnson Sr. and a very special friend Minnie Godfrey of Nashville, Tennessee; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Williams Sr.; parents, Johnnie and Lonnie Mae Allen. The family would like to express special thanks to Pastor Karl Griffiths and members of New Lighthouse Baptist Church for their love and support. We would also like to thank Covenant Healthcare for the care of our mother and a special thanks to Katina Swinton of DaVita. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Dr. Willie F. Casey will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Tuesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Family will be present to greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
