Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at the Browne's Mortuary, 441 North Jefferson Avenue. Supt. Charles Coleman will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. The family will be present at 5:00 p.m. for a family hour. Mr. Jones passed away Saturday, June 23, 2007 at the age of 57 years. He was born May 21, 1950 in Tuscaloosa, AL, the son of Ruth Wilford and Jessie Moffett. He retired from the Malleable Iron Foundry after 31 years of service and was a member of UAW Local 455. His hobbies included fishing, travel, listening to music and being home with his family. Mr. Jones was a loving and caring father, husband, grandfather and friend who devoted the majority of his life to his family and friends. He was always a dependable person who did a lot for people from the bottom of his heart. He will truly be missed. He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his loving and devoted wife of 31 years, Shirley J. Jones; one daughter, Keisha Jones and one son, Deon Jones, all of Saginaw, MI; one stepson, Sgt. Bobby Berry, Jr.; nine grandchildren, Devin, Isiah, Sakoyia, Christopher, Nicole, Shenequa, Terry, Darquarius and Andre; three sisters, Yvonne Jones, Molly Jones and Juanita Stinger; seven brothers, Jessie Wilford, Charlie Jones, Don Wilford, Todd Wilford, Ronnie Jones, Billy Jones and Clifton Davis; many nieces and nephews; an aunt, Dolly; two uncles, John Lee and Jessie Jones; his mother and father-in-law, Loudis and Mary Canada; sisters-in-law, Rosie Pittman, Cathy Barnett, Brenda Wilford, Hester Lowery and Gwen Jones; brothers-in-law, Richard Lee, George Moore, Lee Dawkins, Sampson Pittman and Leon Barnett; and many other relatives and friends, including a special friend, John Jackson. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bill King; and sister-in-law, Ethel Dawkins. The family would like to express special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Cathy and Arthur Berry Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie and Brenda Wilford, Hospice and Covenant Medical Center-Cooper.
