Mr. Joe Willie Comer

Mr. Joe Willie Comer was born on January 18, 1960 in Tennessee to the parents of Lizzie Mae Ellison and Gentry Smith. He passed away on December 14, 2024 at the age of 64 years. Joe attended Saginaw Public Schools and served in the National Guard after high school. He gained employment at Sparkle Janitorial Services, enjoyed fishing, reading his Bible and occasionally visiting First Baptist Church. Mr. Comer leaves to cherish his memory his spouse, Sharon Love-Comer, Saginaw; four children, Joseph Comer, James Love, Dewaunika Comer and Yolanda Comer, all of Saginaw; grandchildren, Jamarion, Jeremiah, Jaylen and Javion Love, Mikwan and Quantessa Walker, Alexis Wilkins, Ciara and Noah Maxey, Zanita Comer, Uriah and Sierra Love, all of Saginaw, Anthony Galves, Grand Rapids and Alexis Jesinskas, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Liam Ocean and Kizzi Faith Jesinskas and Dominic Galves, all of Grand Rapids; his mother, Lizzie Mae Ellison; sisters, Theresa Vaughn and Sharon Brown, both of Saginaw; brothers, Cleveland, Samuel, Emmitt, Gentry, Dexter and Edward Comer; an aunt, Fannie Thompson of TN; an uncle, Robert Well, Mississippi; nieces, Itasha, Keisha, Sha’thalia, Tiffany, Chandra, Latorya, Latanya, LaKendra, Alicia, Hope, Ava, Nastassja, Jarmeisha and Harmony; nephews, Brandon, Terrill, Marcus, Demetric, Joseph, Antonio, Demarcus, Roderick, Anthony, Corey, Steven, Eric, Antwan, Amondo, David, Adam and Donovan; sisters-in-law, LaKeisha, Lora, Lesa, Belinda, Nilda and Theresa; brothers-in-law, Charles, Douglas, Anthony, Patrick and Tony; many other relatives and friends including special friends, David Thomas and David Neal. Mr. Joe Willie Comer was preceded in death by his father, Gentry Smith; sister, Margaret Jameson; brother, Willard Comer; grandparents, Cleveland and Eliza Ellison; step-father, Dillard King; father and mother-in-law, James and Lucy Love; grandfather-in-law, Nathaniel Kennedy; brother-in-law, Robert Jamerson and Jerry; sister-in-law, Mable Comer; Marcus, Gloria; aunts, uncles and many other relatives. The family would like to express special thanks to Linda and Shannon nurses at Covenant Medical Center Harrison 6th Main. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson, Saginaw, MI 48607. Dr. Willie F. Casey will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service
