Ms. Juanita Jackson

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Covenant Medical Center-Cooper at the age of 91 years. She was born November 4, 1924 in Hollandale, Mississippi to Willie and Emmitt (Williams) Joiner. Juanita resided in Saginaw, Michigan where she retired from Steering Gear after many years of service. She was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church. She loved gardening, traveling, shopping, dining out, pampering herself and spending quality time with family and friends. Juanita was very social and loved the Lord. Her loving memory will be cherished by her four children; son, Lee Jackson of Saginaw, Michigan; daughters Ernestine (James) Jasper of Saginaw, Michigan, Catherine (Milton) Townsend of Duluth, Georgia, Adlene Jackson of Clinton Township, Michigan; twelve grandchildren, former Active Duty Sergeant, United States Marine Corps, Robert (Miko) Jones of Okinawa, Japan, LaKesha Mims, Catherine Townsend, Kareem Jasper, Shontaye (Desmond) Bibbs, LaQuinta (Perry) Sanders, Vernon Jackson, Dominic Williams, Jasmine Juanita Jasper, Jakeem Jasper, Rakeem Jasper and CiAsia Jackson-McKinley; fourteen great-grandchildren, Kentrell Jones, Alexia Jones, Alexander Jones, Xavier Jones, Jessica Mims, Bennie Mims, Jr., Dijonaye Townsend, Destiny Townsend, Aaliyah Jasper, Brennan Jackson, Destiny Bibbs, De’Shon Bibbs, Jayden Jackson and Dominic Williams, Jr.; siblings James Earl Joiner, Christine Thompson and Wardiene Joiner all of Champagne, Illinois. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Emmitt Joiner; husband, Paul Jackson; siblings, Marie Joiner-Atkins, Henrene Joiner-Ratliff, Roosevelt Henderson, Julius Joiner, Lucille Martin, Henry Lee Joiner and Willie Joiner, Jr. The family would like to express specials thanks to Amanda Gomez, Paulette Terrell, Dwan Bryant, Ernestine Barnes, Ms. Earline Somlar, Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, family and friends. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m.on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church, 1114 North 6th Street. Dr. Marvin T. Smith will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
