Ms. Judy "Chief" Burton

Judy Burton, affectionately known as “Chief” by her friends and family, transitioned from earth at her home on Friday, April, 10 2020. Judy Burton was born August 16, 1959 in Saginaw, MI to the union of her parents, the late John and Ruth (Gordon) Burton where she was a graduate of St. Joes Cathedral class of ’77 and actively involved in leadership in a women’s recovery program. Judy loved and adored her children and grandchildren and had a genuine love for those who surrounded her. Judy also loved to dress up, talk on the phone, sing, dance and laugh. Judy was known for her selflessness, random acts of kindness and giving to those in need. She will also be remembered for her love for fashion. She leaves to cherish her memory, her four children, Leonard Burton, Shavonda Burton, Johneice (Marquise) Woods and Keosha Burton; god-daughter, Schlar Erwin ; grandchildren, Antwan, Aaliyah, Jaylen, Asyah, Marquise(MJ) and Reyna; sisters, Myrtle, Debra and Runette; brothers, Roxie and Troy; adopted sisters, Yvonne, Brenda, Belinda and Beatrice; adoptive brother, Falashone ; aunts, Louvenia (Isaac) Addison and Helen Mubara K’assad; uncle, Samuel (Mildred) Bennett; special cousin, Deidra (Burton) McEachren; special nephew, Eugene Burton; special nieces, Katrina Burton, Nikki Burton and Savette Burton-Jordan; and a countless number of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Burton; son, Anthony Wiley Jr.; brothers, John Burton, Jr.; sisters, Michael Ann Burton, Melva Jean Washington, Janice Pittman and Yvonne Burton; adoptive parents, James and Mattie Erwin; adoptive brother, James “Bay Bay” Erwin, Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Tra'Shawn (Pruitt) Burton. Friends may call from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607. Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S.
