Leslie Allen Baber

Mr.Leslie Allen Baber (Stomp) departed this life on Saturday, March 2, 2013. Leslie was born May 14, 1968 in Saginaw, Michigan to Betty Jean Bankhead and Leslie Howard Jackson. He was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, and received his Bachelor and Masters Degrees from Central Michigan University. He was a member of the Masons (H. York Harrison Lodge #32, PHA). Leslie rededicated his life back to Christ at Victorious Believers Ministries where he served as an usher. Leslie was employed by the Saginaw Public School District for 18 years and at the Wolverine Juvenile Correctional Facilities for 6 months. In his leisure time, he enjoyed cooking, especially grilling, playing dominoes, horseshoes and spending time with family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 6 ½ years, Sheila Renee Baber; two children Layla and David Baber; two stepchildren Shayla and Daniel Norwood; his father, Leslie (Audrey) Jackson; stepfather, Leon Bankhead; mother-in-law, Cherry (Cornelius) Roberson; one brother, Barraka (Jacqueline) Baber of Southfield, Michigan; two stepbrothers, Eric and Jay Bankhead; one stepsister, Africa Liles; sister-in-law, Diane (Twoyn) Burt; one brother-in-law, Bruce Foxx of Huntsville, AL; seven aunts, Bertha (Elmer) Ellsworth, Annie Babers, Jacqueline (Carl) Stringer, Carolyn (Marvin) Hall, Vera (Mark) Reedy all of Saginaw, Michigan; Hilta Miles and Hilda Roberts of Pineville, Louisiana; two uncles, Herman (Avon) Bell of Saginaw, Michigan, and Hilton (Ann) Rodgers of Petersburg, Virginia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends. Leslie was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Bankhead; grandparents, Ben, Sr. and Alberta Baber; grandmother, Texola (Bell) Jackson; two aunts, Patsey Smith and Jessie Davis; two uncles, Andrew Haygood and Ben James Babers, Jr.; three cousins, Connie Davis, Gregory Davis and Catherine Thomas. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Victorious Believers Ministries C.O.G.I.C., 624 South Outer Drive. Pastor Christopher Pryor will officiate. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
