Mrs. Mamie Lee Knox

Mamie Knox (Aunt Mamie) our beloved aunt, sister and mother went home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2015 at the age of 79. She was born January 18, 1936 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, the daughter of Columbus and Ophila Baker. Aunt Mamie traveled the world evangelizing for over ten years. Minister Mamie Knox was a member of Bethlehem Temple Church “BTC” for approximately 29 years. She was an usher, sang in the Missionary Choir and worked in the kitchen. Mamie started and headed the Witness Team and was a Prayer Warrior. She worked as a Missionary, served in the Missionary Auxiliary and started the BTC Nursing Home Ministry. Mamie was a woman of great faith and often encouraged others to have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She was also faithful until her health began to decline. Mrs. Mamie L. Knox leaves to cherish her memory; son, Lamar Baker of Saginaw, Michigan; sister, Willie B. Wilkins; two nieces, Ceylon Williams-Bettis and Sheneal Williamson; two nephews, Larry Hoskins and Laerase Williamson, all of Saginaw, Michigan; great-nieces, LaQuinda Williams, Chvonne Howard and Natasha Jones; great-nephews, Demontrail Williamson, John Williamson, Roean Baker, Jr., Jordan Baker, Julian Baker, Antone Hines, Amiri Hines and Jarell Howard. Mrs. Knox was preceded in death by her parents, Columbus and Ophila Baker; sister, Mildred Lee Baker and nephew, Roean Baker. The family would like to express special thanks to Healthsource of Saginaw “Garden section”, Evangelists Wilma Weems, Mary Bond and Brother David Beane. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all of you for your prayers, presence, love and telephone calls, food and all other expression of concern that you have shown during our time of bereavement. Special thanks Bethlehem Temple Church family, Evans & Browne’s Funeral Home and staff, Bethlehem Baptist Church family and New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church family. Never more than now was your kindness needed and more appreciated. Family hour will take place until time of service at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Bethlehem Temple Church 3521 Webber Street, with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Curtis Johnson will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
