Ms. Marquetta Shavette Carroll

Marquetta Shavette Carroll was born April 27th 1982 in Saginaw, Michigan to the parents of Catherine “Shell” Carroll- Daniel and Keith Cooper. Sadly, Marquetta passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the age of 40 years. She was the second eldest of the 3 Amigos. Whenever you saw one, the other 2 were close behind. In “Quetta’s spare time, she was always seen smiling, holding a conversation with somebody at Walmart and would always make sure to say, “Hey” as you passed her by. But more importantly she spent every waking moment with her children whom she cherished more than anything. Whether it was sports, doctor’s appointment, volunteering in school or a recreational event she was always there. Marquetta was employed through Walmart Supercenter. She was also an employee of the Arthur Eddy Elementary School where she loved helping out and volunteering her time wherever it was needed. Ms. Carroll leaves to cherish her memory, one son and a daughter, Maryah and Dylan Burton, both of Saginaw, MI; grandparents, Bertha Tellis and Yvonne Cooper, both of Saginaw; sisters, Tamisha Carroll and Lacrica (Terrance) Williams, both of Saginaw; nieces, La’Naija and Laila Brewer, both of Saginaw; a nephew, Lance Brewer, Jr., Saginaw; aunts, Helen Browning, Saginaw and Louise Weaver, Tex, TX; uncles, Roy (Toni) Carroll, Michael (Tamyra) Carroll and Maurice (Jill) Cooper, all of Saginaw; god-brother, Corey Moore; god-sisters, Monique Buckner, Tamica Riley and Tiera Riley; god-daughter, A’Nya McClain-Gardner; best friend, Izasha Gardner; special cousins, LeKeshia Kellum and Pashion Carroll; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friend, Ashley Griffith, DeToya Ham, Pamela Gibbs-Smith, RaShonda Reeves, Areneesa Brewer, Sonya Campbell and bonus aunt, Audrey Redeemer. Marquetta Shavette Carroll was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Carroll-Daniel; father Keith Cooper; grandfather, Roy Carroll, Sr. great-grandmother, Mary Ellen Taylor; cousin, Esther "Sadie" Steward; special cousin, Veronica Gaddy-Burton and god-mother, Barbara Ross. Family hour for Tamisha and Marquetta will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 810 Cathay Street, Saginaw, MI 48601, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Blake Strozier, Host Pastor and Pastor Taurus Simpson will officiate with interment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 950 N. Center Rd., Saginaw, MI 48638. Visitation will take place on Wednesday August 31, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson, Saginaw, MI 48607.
