Elder Milton Glenn "Clutch" Watkins, Sr.

Elder Milton Glenn Watkins, Sr. "Clutch" was born July 5, 1951 in West Helena, Arkansas and the Lord called him home on June 3, 2017 at the age of 65 years. Elder Watkins was the son of Superintendent Phillip and Marie (Reynolds) Watkins. He moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1970 and was employed at Saginaw Steering Gear, Division of G.M. He retired from Delphi Corp. in 2000 after 30 years of dedicated service. He served as an Elder at Greater Williams Temple Church of God In Christ in Saginaw, Michigan. He loved to cook, watch cowboy movies, baseball and football games. He also loved to read his Sunday School Book, the Bible and preach the word to his wife and children. Elder Watkins leaves to cherish many memories his loving wife, Shirley Watkins of Saginaw, MI; children, SSG Milton Watkins, III of Oklahoma, Rufus and Jemorcus Watkins of Saginaw, MI, Alesa Dugan and Fred Wilson, both of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren, Nazeria Brandon, Atlanta, GA, Onye’ Watkins, Saginaw, MI, AlayJia Watkins, Temple, TX, Jeremiah Watkins, Killeen, TX, Ja’Marii Watkins, Adyen Saucedo, Brayden Watkins, all of Saginaw, MI; two sisters, Ruth (Supt. Samuel L.) Diggins of South Bend, IN and Ora Jones, Detroit, MI; five brothers, Joseph (Betty) Watkins, Charles (Shirley) Watkins, both of West Helena, AR, Harold Watkins, Detroit, MI, Bishop John H. (Willa Mae) Sheard and Otis (Ethelrine) Sheard; six sisters-in-law, Mary (Lawrence) Bowen, Gloria (Adam) Clemmons, Brenda (Leslie) Page, Mary Barnes, Angela Walker and Lisa Page-Flowers; six brothers-in-law, William Page, Willie Page, Calvin Page all of Saginaw, MI, George (Shay) Barnes, Flint, MI, Michael Page, Grand Blanc, MI and Arthur (Toni) Pringle; many other relatives and friends including, Vosinee (Barbara) Ross, James Willis, Julia Pringle, Elder James Weston, Theodore Woods, Elder Melvin Price and Julia and Samuel Wright. Elder Milton Watkins was preceded in death by his parents, Supt. Phillip and Marie Watkins; a brother, Phillip Watkins, Jr.; two sisters, Lois Staggers and Geraldine Jennings; his mother-in-law, Eddie Mae Page; brother-in-law, Michael Walker; two nieces, Beverly Ann Staggers and Angel Page; and nephew, Charles Watkins, Jr. A special thank you to Heartland Hospice, Saginaw Senior Rehab and Dr. M.A. Kahn, also Lisa Page Flowers, Michael Page and Lauren Davis. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Greater Williams Temple COGIC, 608 E. Remington Street, Saginaw, MI. Supt. Arthur Aikin will officiate with entombment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 950 North Center Road, Saginaw, MI. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI on Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
