Mr. Norris "Bo" Shepard

Norris J. “Bo” Shepard was born September 13, 1933 in Meridian, Mississippi to the parents of Norris and Corine (McFarland) Shepard. He passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the age of 85 years. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Army and received an Honorable Discharge. Mr. Shepard was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He was a member of St. Luke C.M.E. Church where he served as president of the Usher Board, vice-president of the Steward board; he enjoyed singing in the choir and the Male Chorus. His hobbies were, reading and volleyball. He loved people and helping others whenever he could. Mr. Shepard leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Josephine Shepard, Saginaw, MI; five step-children, Neda (Matthew) Blecher, Thomasina (Myron) Scott, Beverly Glanton, Wilbert Stokes, Dallas, TX, and Stephanie McClendon, Atlanta, GA; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two cousins; two sisters, Rev. Alzee Landrum, Saginaw, MI and Nora Ingram, Wichita Falls, TX; two brothers-in-law, Matt Ingram, Saginaw, MI and Jake Landrum, Wichita Falls, TX and many other relatives and friends including, John Donway, Jake Landrum, Nesby Garrett, William Carey, Lee Carey and his brothers of the church. Norris was preceded in death by his parents, Norris and Corine Shepard; one step-son, Larry Jackson and many other relatives. The family would like to express thanks and appreciation to all friends and well-wishers for the calls, visits, time resources, cards, flowers, tributes and any other deeds of kindness during their time of celebration and reflection of Norris, “Bo”. Also very special thanks to Mr. John Holmes and a special “Thank you” to the Pastor, officers and members of the St. Luke C.M.E. Church. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2019 at St. Luke C.M.E. Church, 1121 Tuscola Street, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Pastor Joyce Redfearn will officiate with interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan 48442. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, Michigan 48607 on Sunday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
