Mrs. Ora Mae Loveless

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 16, 2018. Mrs. Ora Mae (Lee) Loveless affectionately known as “Sister”, age 97, was born December 24, 1920 in Itta Bena, Mississippi to Rev. Johnnie and Emma Lee. Ora Mae married Joe Lee Loveless on December 24, 1945. He preceded her in death. Prior to moving to Saginaw, MI in 2013, she resided in Greenwood, MS where she was a faithful member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Moorhead, MS, Pastor Harvey Green. She loved her pastor and church family and last year he and some of the members made a special trip to Saginaw to check on “Mother Loveless”. As a resident in Greenwood, she worked and retired as a custodian from the Greenwood Public School System on June 15, 1987. She enjoyed sewing and was the family, church and community seamstress. She loved to cook and was very good at it. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her love for telling us Lee Family stories. Upon moving to Saginaw, she became a resident of Samaritas Senior Living Center. She united with Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church in November, 2015. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Katie Ellington of Maryland; two sons, Joe Willie (Phyllis) Loveless, Chicago, IL and Sammie Lee (Emma) Loveless, Apple Valley, CA; daughter-in-law, Cleo Loveless, LaPuenta, CA; several grandchildren, including her special granddaughters, Linda Ellington and Joyce (Melvin) Price; great-grandchildren; five sisters, Alberta Austin, Vivian (M.C.) Tarkington, Gladys Humes, Tena (Willie) Bond, all of Saginaw, MI, Pinkie Sanders, Chicago, IL; two brothers, L.H. Lee and Davis Lee, both of Saginaw, MI; special nephew, Rev. Robert Anderson, Greenwood, MS and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Loveless was also preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Johnnie S. and Emma (Davis) Lee; a son, C.B. Loveless; sister, Ella V. Jones; three brothers, Elder James A. Lee, Preston Lee and Benjamin Lee; four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law. The family wishes to express special thanks to Samaritas Senior Living Center and Nursing Care Staff, special caregivers, Gladys Humes, Emma Edwards and Emma Jean Sanders. Family hour will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2018 at Mt. Olive Inst'l Missionary Baptist Church, 1114 North 6th Street, Dr. Marvin T. Smith, Pastor, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Minister Marcelle T. Smith will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 South Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation is 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
