Mr. Oscar Wilson, Jr.

Mr. Oscar L. Wilson, Jr. while surrounded by his loving wife and family, he went home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2025 at MyMichigan Medical Center at the age of 71 years. Oscar was born September 23, 1953 in Saginaw, Michigan to Oscar and Luebertha (Mack) Wilson, Sr. After completing high school, Oscar joined the United States Army and proudly served our Country, he then received an Honorable Discharge. He was employed at General Motors Bay City Powertrain Div. and a member of UAW Local #362 before retiring with 35 years of loyal service. Mr. Wilson was a faithful member of Messiah Missionary Baptist Church under the guidance of Pastor Otis Washington. He truly enjoyed singing for the Lord as a lead singer for the Male Chorus and Mass Choir. Oscar was a sharp dresser and he liked to keep his lawn well-manicured. Oscar was the life of the party with many jokes. He loved being around family and friends. Precious memories of Oscar will be forever cherished and honored by his devoted wife of 17 years, Alice Rainey-Wilson; step-daughter, Dinatria L. Rainey; three sisters, Dorothy (Walter) Harris, Patricia Hill and Judy (Arthur) Weathers all of Saginaw; two brothers, Harold Wilson, Toledo, OH and Stanley (Kathy) Jones, Rochester, MI; a brother-in-law, Maurice Rainey, Detroit, MI; many nieces, nephews and cousins including special cousins, Calvin (Sheryl) Mack, Castle Rock, CO and Doris Jones; cousin/sister, Fay McKinnie who were all dear to him; his extended family, Willie James (Shirley) Boggs and family and the Mack family; special friends, John A. Ezell, George Drain, Otis Bell and Larry Monroe; many other relatives and friends. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Wilson, Sr. and Luebertha (Mack) Jenkins and Ennis Jenkins. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Messiah Baptist Church, 2615 Williamson Rd., Saginaw, MI 48601. Pastor Otis Washington will officiate with interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI 48442. Visitation will take place on Wednesday at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. The family will be present from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
