Pastor Carl E. Donald answered the Lord’s call on Friday, August 1, 2014 at the age of 53 years. He was born May 31, 1961 in Saginaw, MI to Mary (Hale) and James Donald, Sr. Pastor Donald was a resident of Saginaw, MI. He was founder and Pastor of Sanctuary of Praise Ministries, Saginaw, MI. He was a graduate of Saginaw High School, class of 1979 and also an attendee of Blue Lakes Fine Arts and City College of San Francisco of Performing Arts. He was employed by Securitas as a security guard at Nexteer and APS Employment as a respite aide. Pastor Donald enjoyed fishing and he was an anointed songwriter, musician and pastor. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Cynthia Donald; children, Temesha Parnell, Carl Donald, Jr., both of Helena, AR and Kameron Donald, Ypsilanti, MI; step-child, Talisha Parker, Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Marcus Crawford, Jr., Markeyan Crawford, Cierra Parnell, DeAsia Parnell, DeQuan Davis and ZyNiyah Dillard, all of Arkansas; father, James Donald, Sr., Saginaw, MI; step-mother, Dorothy Donald, Saginaw, MI; sisters, Rose Lively, Deborah (Bobby) Lowe, Charlotte Lively, Jaenette (Rodney) Johnson and Catrina Donald, all of Saginaw, MI; brothers, John (Debra Eaton) Lively, Saginaw, MI, Eugene (Erica) Davis, Detroit, MI, James (Erika) Donald, Jr., Tell City, IN, Ricky (Shirley) Baber, Sam Donald, Charles Donald and Derrick Donald, all of Saginaw, MI; eleven nieces; six nephews; aunts, Brinda (Eddie) Gaiter, Sr., Bertha (Albert) Omar, Jr., both of Saginaw, MI and Callie Mae (David) Williams, Marianna, AR; uncles, Earnest (Janice) Hale, Saginaw, MI and Bennie Hale, Sr., Phoenix, AZ; father-in-law, John Canty, Jacksonville, FL; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Reed, Shirley Kinchen, Rosa (Harvey) Kennedy and Gloria (Daniel) Nicholson, all of Jacksonville, FL; brothers-in-law, Alfonsia Canty and Gentle Lee (Gail) Canty, both of Jacksonville, FL; God-sons, Shadoe Garth and Carl Booker, both of Saginaw, MI; and many other relatives and friends. There are so many other relatives and friends that held a special place in his heart and you each know who you are. Cherish the memories. Pastor Donald was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Gray; step-father, Joe Gray; mother-in-law, Lottie Canty; grandparents, Ben and Girtha Hale; and his sister, Pamela Lively. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Faith Charity C.O.G.I.C., 907 Janes Street. Rev. Ardis Thompson, Pastor. Pastor Calvin Glass will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
