Mr. Robert Allen Benjamin

Mr. Robert Allen Benjamin passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 in Garland, Texas at the age of 55 years. He was born March 28, 1963 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Robert and Georgia Alice Veasley Benjamin. Robert was a graduate of Buena Vista High School “Class of 1981.” He was a resident of Garland, Texas. Robert was a member of Mt Hebron Baptist in Garland, TX. He was in the United States Marine Corps from August of 1981 until March of 1987. Robert was retired Truck Driver, and a diehard Detroit Lions fan. He loved football and basketball, but most of all he loved his grandbabies, Briell (Bezabok) and Josiah (Fred). Robert enjoyed spending time with his wife Mary and children. Mr. Robert Allen Benjamin leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Mary Davis Benjamin; daughter, Brittney NaChell; two sons, Brandon Allen, all of Garland, Texas and Robert A. Markist of Toledo, Ohio; two grandchildren, Brielle Amea and Josiah Brandon, both of Garland, Texas; sister, Delores (Melvin) Jones of Saginaw, Michigan; brother, Arthur Benjamin of Fort Worth, Texas; nieces, Lakeisha Benjamin, Phedria Woods, Breasia Benjamin, all of Saginaw, Michigan and Adashea Dugan of Garland, Texas; nephews, Zachary Jones, Andrew Jones, Denarion Benjamin, Arthur Woods, all of Saginaw, Michigan and Cleveland Davis of Garland, Texas; aunts, Sennie Johnson of Columbia, South Carolina, Lela Wade, Leola Griffin, Celia Martin, Gloria Blackmon, Marie Diane Blackmon and Joyce Turner, all of Saginaw, Michigan; uncles, Spencer (Darlene) Blackmon, Roy Blackmon, James Williams, Randall Williams and Rondal Williams; mother-in-law, Leona Davis; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Jones and L.C. Davis; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Eric McKenzie, Reggie Alford, John Walton, Coy Glass, Darryl Watson and Jessica Williams. Mr. Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Georgia Alice Benjamin; sister, Janet Marie Benjamin; niece, Breanna Benjamin. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2018 at Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 818 North Washington Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607, Pastor Robert Davis, Jr., host pastor. Min. Sandra Crosby-Robinson will officiate with interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48607 on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m..
