Mr. Robert Lee Hudson

Mr. Robert Lee Hudson our loving husband and father was born March 3, 1946 in Bishopville, South Carolina to James and Pauline Hudson. He passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the age of 78 years. Robert moved to Saginaw, Michigan at the age of 17 hoping to gain employment at General Motors. He began working at Chevrolet Metal Casting Plant GM plant and was a member of UAW Local #668. He retired with more than 46 years of loyal service. He was a hard-working man who gave it his all. He worked at home getting up early in the morning working in his yard and he kept it in great shape. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing (from the bank or on the boat). He enjoyed cooking fish for his family and friends. Robert was proud of his collection of guns, enjoyed watching western movies, listening to music, washing and keeping his beautiful cars and trucks clean, working on and fixing cars with his brother Phillip. He was known as a handyman who tried to fix things. Mr. Hudson leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 50 years, Bobbie Jean Hudson; children, Margaretta Hudson (Peter) Boucher, Dallas, TX, Dalphine (Edward) Layton, Sr., Stacy and Tracy Hudson all of Saginaw; nine grandchildren, Keshia Hudson, David Matthews, Jr., Peter Boucher, Jr., Shaniqua Layton, Edward Layton, Jr., J’veon and Jaylen Jackson, Jon’Asia Hudson and My’Angel Harris; seven greatgrandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many aunts and uncles; nieces including special niece, Victoria Hudson, Dallas, TX; nephews, including special nephew, Matthew Hudson other relatives and friends. Mr. Robert Lee Hudson was preceded in death by his parents, James and Pauline Hudson; two sons, Robert Lee Hudson, Jr. and Anthony Hudson; seven brothers, James, Willie, Marion, Junior, Isaac and Phillip Hudson; mother and father-in-law, Clifton (Ollie) Miree and a cousin, Sammie Lee Boone who was raised as a brother. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the Harmony Care Hospice staff. A big thanks to a brother-in-law, Clifton Miree, Jr. “Sam”, granddaughters, JonAsia Hudson and Shaniqua Layton and a grandson, Jaylen (who was loving called “Big Daddy” by his grandfather) because of your special love and care, you all made everything much easier. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Pastor Mary Allen will officiate. Visitation will take place on Monday at the funeral home from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
