Mrs. Rosetta "Baby" Lee

Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend Mrs. Rosetta “Baby” Lee passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024, at the age of 92 years. Up until the end Rosetta maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, appreciation of beauty, love of family and friends, and expressed gratitude for her long life, full of wonderful and varied experiences. Rosetta was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. Rosetta was born December 13, 1931, in Saginaw, MI to the late William and Marie Thorne. “Baby” leaves to cherish her memory five children, Gloria (Al) Napier, Joyce (Sam) Winters, William R. Coleman, Vonda Coleman-Whitney all of Saginaw and Leona (David) Jones Jr., Shreveport, LA; four bonus children, Sandra Wilmer, Roslyn Lee, Sabrina Hickman and Damon Lee; nine grandchildren, Mark (Tracy) Coleman, Duane Coleman, Robert (Chala) Baker, Chantell (Darrick) Pittman, Cory (Chayle) Baker, Halena Jones, a granddaughter whom she raised, Brittany Williams, Brandon Hines, and Sarah Jones; 19 great-grandchildren; her twin sister Rosie Thorne; special nieces Patricia Johnson, Marcia Porter, and Sheila Rankins; special nephew Otis Jones; special god-daughter Rosa Holliday and god-son Mack McClaine; Marcia Haddon-Williams and Warnella Wright “Pizza” who were like daughters to her; many other relatives and friends. Mrs. Rosetta “Baby” Lee was preceded in death by her husband William “Billy” S. Lee, Sr.; daughter, Linda D. Coleman; bonus son William S. Lee Jr.; two grandsons, Rickey Napier and Eric D. Coleman; two brothers, Jack Thorne, Sr. and William (Pop) Thorne; four sisters, Louise Rankins, Maxine Gillespie, Ramona Hawkins, and Helen Bolton. The family would like to express special thanks to her caretakers Stacey Brandon, Mary Scott, Gloria Garcia, and her niece Ronda Thorne. Special thanks to Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Center, Covenant Medical Center - Cooper, and Liz & Nicole of Commission on Aging. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607. Pastor Audrey Parker will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
