Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 14, 2007 at Truevine Baptist Church, 2930 Janes Street. Pastor Paul E. Broaddus will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, at the Browne's Mortuary, 441 N. Jefferson Ave. from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. for the Family Hour. Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the age of 86 years. He was born March 8, 1921 in Hazelhurst, MS to Rev. Marshall and Elizabeth Moore. Mr. Moore accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Temple Church of God In Christ in Hazelhurst, MS. After moving to Michigan in 1953, he later joined Truevine Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Moore was a graduate of Hazelhurst High School and attended Alcorn A&M College. He also graduated from the Vocational Trade School For Carpentry in Brookhaven, MS. Mr. Moore loved sports. He served in the U. S. Armed Forces during WWII and the Korean Conflict and received a personal citation from the President of the United States. An employee of GM and Sears Automotive, he retired in 1985. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Gladys Martin Moore, whom he married on February 8, 1946 in Hazelhurst, MS. To this union four daughters and four sons were born, Jeanette Cassell, Saginaw, Smith (Barbara) Moore, Jr., Louisiana, Freddie (Lona) Moore, Louisiana, Joyce Adams, Flint, Glen (Jerry) Moore, Bridgeport, Dennis Moore, Louisiana, Marjorie Moore, Saginaw, Sittina Moore, Saginaw; two adopted granddaughters, Gwendolyn (Bryant) Scott and Domonique Moore, both of Saginaw; 35 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother, Mary (Edward) Godwin, Los Angeles, CA; Joanne (Edward) Herring, Saginaw, Quentin (Bobbie) Moore, Omaha, NE and Margie Nell Turner, Saginaw; three sisters-in-law and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; one sister; his father and mother-in-law and a grandson, Tyrone Pearson.
