Ms. Tania Denise Sowell-Burns

Tania Denise Sowell-Burns departed this life suddenly of a heart attack on May 18, 2019 at the age of 53. She suffered for many years with the disease called Sarcoidosis. Tania was affectionately known as "Weasel". She was the daughter of the late Vernon E. Sowell and Bobbie Jean Sowell Bufford. She was born November 26, 1965 in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan where she received her bachelor’s degree in Biological Research. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Greater Coleman Temple World Outreach where she was a dedicated member on the Praise Team and choir. Tania loved life, her family and her cat Sugar. She never met a stranger. She was a loving and caring person, always thinking of others first. To know her was to love her. Tania was united in holy matrimony to Craig Burns. She was preceded in death by her husband Craig Burns, fathers Vernon E. Sowell, Satchel Morgan, Harold Bufford, her sister Sheryl Lynn Moten and nephew Daniel Morgan. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family: mothers Bobbie Jean Sowell Bufford, Estella Moten, sisters and brothers Jeanne Young, Valencia Morgan (Anthony), James Morgan (Rachel), Mark Morgan (Anita), Verna Morgan, Tracy Avery Morgan, Ian Lamont Comier, Brenda Granison (Darrick), Malcom Morgan, Michael Slogate, Nauthion Ledbetter, Scott Duranso; nieces & nephews Airka Matthews, An-Tarries Young/Reynolds, Antoine Young, Daria Granison, Jazmine Granison, Deonte Morgan, Lasonda Morgan, Nakia Morgan, Anthony Morgan, Angelica Morgan, Mark Morgan Jr, Reneice Raye Jr, Verna Neal Jr, Richard Neal, Ralph Neal, Leslie Neal, Laurel Neal, Myanna Slogate, Angela Morgan; great nephew Landon Granison; God-Parents Supt. Family hour will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at World Outreach Campus, 2405 Bay Road, Saginaw, MI 48602 with funeral service commencing at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Hurley J. Coleman, Jr. will officiate with interment in Buena Vista Cemetery, 612 South Airport Road, Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
