Ms. Teresa Sherille Taylor

Ms. Teresa Sherille Taylor went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the age of 43 years. Teresa was born March 2, 1973 in Saginaw, MI to Charles and Nola (Carter) Taylor. She was the youngest of two siblings. Teresa was an active member at Christ Kingdom Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Edward Jackson where she sang in the Mass Choir. Teresa graduated from Arthur Hill High School “Class of 1991” and went on to attend Michigan State University where she received her Master’s Degree in Social Work in 2006. She was employed at Southern Care and later went on to work at Tenderheart Health Center as a Social Worker. Teresa enjoyed singing, writing poems and helping to inspire people. She was a true advocate of pursuing your education. She was a loving aunt who enjoyed spending time, dancing and playing with her great-nephew and nieces. Ms. Taylor is survived by her parents, Charles and Nola Taylor; two grandmothers, Dora Ella Carter of Louisville, MS and Priscilla Carter of Carrollton, MI; one sister, Melissa Taylor of Saginaw, MI; one god-sister, Marquita Williams of Atlanta, GA; one god-brother, Fenell Jones; two nieces, Amesha (Jerome) Banks and Marissa Mayo; one nephew, Derrick Burch, Jr.; one great-nephew, Ta’Juan Laury, Jr.; three great-nieces, Syriah Banks, Ly’Rik Laury and Niveah Sweeney, all of Saginaw, MI; five aunts, Mae Ella (Tommy) Hannah of Louisville, MS, Lorinda (Anthony) Thomas, Latonia Carter of Carrollton, MI, Evelyn (Honey) Triplett of Pontiac, MI and Lucinda Taylor of Saginaw, MI; three uncles, Robert (Helen) Taylor of Rialto, CA, Claude Carter of Cleveland, OH and Johnny Ray Carter of Saginaw, MI; a host of other special relatives and friends, including special friends, Karen May, Amy Dusseault, Chilan Maryam, Michelle Lawford, Delphine Jackson, Tinita Walton, Tonya Fuller, Sheronda McGee and Lashana Henderson. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Slaughter and Velma Taylor and Olin Carter, Sr.; special cousin, Alandya Taylor; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to express sincere thanks and gratitude to Christ Kingdom Ministries, Dr. Liu and staff at Covenant Healthcare-Mackinaw, Dr. James Jesse and all other doctors and staff at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. We would also like to extend a special thanks to all family and friends for your acts of kindness during this time. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Christ Kingdom Ministries, 5638 Dixie Hwy. Apostle Edward Jackson will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 North Jefferson Avenue on Monday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
