Thomas Graham, Sr.

Our soldier has gone home to serve our Lord Jesus Christ. Thomas “Jerome” Graham, Sr., born April 20, 1946, lost his 14 year battle with cancer on December 23, 2014. Jerome had accomplished a number of things in his life: graduating from Buena Vista High School (1964), enlisting in the U. S. Marine Corps (1964-1970), followed by studying at Delta College (1972-1975), and concluding his military career with his retirement from the Army National Guard (1976-1990). During his time in the National Guard, he was also providing for his family as an employee of the Malleable Iron Plant, from which he also retired. He was also a member of the UAW Local 455. Jerome was a serving member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Midland, MI. Jerome married Vera Patricia “Pat” Smith in April 1969, sharing 45 years together before she preceded him in death on July 4, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Andrew (Sr.) and Mary Jo Graham; a brother and sister, Andrew Graham Jr. and Bernice Fuse respectively; and a grandson, Jason Howard. Jerome leaves to cherish his memory, three children, Patrick Howard of Columbus, OH, Yolanda Howard of Columbus, OH and Thomas Graham II of Hope, MI; three grandchildren, Olando Howard of Delaware, OH, Donovan Howard of Fort Wayne, IN and J’Lessa Howard of Columbus, OH; three great-grandchildren, J’Corrion of Columbus, OH, Londyn of Fort Wayne, IN and Jordyn of Fort Wayne, IN; one brother, George A. Graham, Sr. (Vickie Little) of Saginaw, MI; nine nieces, Markesha King, Arronna Graham, Amena Graham, Tasha Graham, Ranesha Williams, Tasha Wesbley, Zaniyla King, Andrus King and Markeisha King; five nephews, Arron Fuse, Micheal (Suzanne) Fuse, George Graham, Jr., Marc Graham and Randall Jones (Gloriann Kennedy); one uncle, Louis Russaw of Detroit, MI; cousins, Janet and Bobby Sanks of Salem, AL; one sister-in-law, Debra Smith; a dear and close friend, Al Jamerson; and many special friends, including the Matthew’s family of Oakley Park, Detroit, MI, Christaine and Herbert Carter of Huntsville, AL, Cutris Lee Williams of Selma, AL, Joyce Upshaw of Selma, AL, Alchonso (Sarha) Jamison of Saginaw, MI, Lender Graham of Saginaw, MI and Denise Jones of Saginaw, MI. Funeral service will take at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Corinthian Baptist Church, 104 S. 10th St. Pastor Roy Manning will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave. on Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
