Mrs. Willie Mae Johnson

Willie Mae Johnson of Saginaw, Michigan, a beloved wife, mother “Madear”, grandmother, great-grandmother of five generations, and a sister of one brother went home on December 17, 2022 at the age of 90 years. Willie Mae was born August 2, 1932 in Marion, Arkansas coming to Michigan in 1955. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and served faithfully as “Mother of the Church”. Mrs. Johnson retired from Aubry Cleaners. She had a love for cooking and gardening and was best known for her beautiful flowers. She was also a in home daycare provider and loved by many. Cherishing her memory are six daughters, Betty (Jean) Donald, Delois Smith, Barbara Ann Haywood, Marilyn (Renee’) Johnson Woodhouse (Sam), Shirley and Tina Johnson; two children she raised, Mary Jean Ward and Sheria Dexter; cousin, daughters all of Saginaw; two god-children, Kathleen Richardson and Curtis Manzie; one brother, Harold Wilson (Naomi), Sacramento, CA; seven grandchildren, Shawn Weaver, Cedric Donald, Dr. LaMetria Johnson Eaddy (Gregory) Jr., Shalita Vining, Jamario Love (Pamala) Dr. Eric Donald (Shatara) and Shannon McDaniel (Veronica); 28 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews including special nieces, Catherine Wilson, Alice James, Carrie Williams, Patricia Hatcher and Mildred Freeman; special cousins, Edward and Ernestine Robinson, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Willie Mae Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Johnson; one granddaughter, Alexis; parents, John and Luellen Johnson; three brothers and six sisters; a son-in-law, Howard. The family of Mrs. Johnson extends special thanks to EMS, Saginaw Fire Department, Saginaw Police Department, Covenant Visiting Nurses and Dr. Minoo Khetarpahl. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, Michigan 48607. Pastor Miles Franklin officiate with interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM until time of service.
